The Nadur Local Council wishes to inform residents and public transport users that, following discussions held with TM regarding Routes 302 and 303, changes to these routes will come into effect as follows:
Route 302
* The route direction will be changed so that it will also start passing through Nadur Square.
* Furthermore, all journeys on this route will pass through the Ta’ Xħajma facility.
Route 303
* The route direction will be changed on journeys arriving from Qala so that it follows the same direction as journeys arriving from Rabat.
* This means that buses will follow the same route both when entering and leaving the locality.
* Furthermore, all journeys on this route will pass through the Ta’ Xħajma facility.
What will this mean for Nadur?
1. With this change, Route 302 will also start passing through Nadur Square, providing residents and visitors with direct access to the centre of the locality by public transport.
2. In addition, both Route 302 and Route 303 will pass through the Ta’ Xħajma Park and Ride facility, making it easier for passengers to make use of this facility by parking their vehicle and continuing their journey by public transport.
3. Buses passing through Nadur Square will now always travel in the same direction, namely from Triq il-Knisja (Church Street), towards the Square, and then onwards to Triq Diċembru 13 (13 December Street).
These changes will come into effect on 31 May 2026.

Nadur Local Council recently concluded a transformative trip to Zafferana Etnea, Sicily, as part of the EU-funded #CJAATNE project – A Collaborative Journey of Art, Agriculture, and Tradition.
From March 12-15, our delegation immersed in a packed programme that highlighted shared values and set the stage for enduring friendship between our communities.
The visit kicked off with a formal welcome at Zafferana Etnea Council, featuring presentations, official photos, and a symbolic gift exchange. Key activities blended the project’s core pillars: agricultural insights via beekeeping demonstrations and tastings at Oro dell’Etna; artistic inspiration from the Paintings Exhibition by Zafferana’s Artists Association; and cultural fusion through a Sicilian Food Night with traditional Maltese and Sicilian delights.
These experiences pursued clear objectives: preserve cultural heritage, advance sustainable agriculture, and spark artistic collaboration. Nestled on Mount Etna’s slopes, Zafferana shared its volcanic apiculture and local crafts, while Nadur contributed governance perspectives and Mediterranean traditions. The trip exemplified people-to-people exchanges, fostering mutual learning amid Europe’s diverse landscapes.
Co-funded by the European Union’s Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme, CJAATNE enabled this cross-border endeavour, aligning with EU goals of equality, rights, and unity. A highlight was Sunday’s formal signing at Zafferana’s Council Hall: a 5-year renewal of the twinning agreement with both Comune di Zafferana Etnea and Pro Loco. This pact promises continued support, joint events, and reciprocal initiatives.
This trip elevates our decade-long friendship into a structured, funded partnership. For Nadur, it means enriched local events, skill-sharing for farmers and artists, and youth opportunities that broaden horizons. Zafferana gains from Maltese networks, boosting agritourism and cultural visibility.
Over the next five years, expect reciprocal visits, collaborative markets, and sustainability projects. This renewed twinning symbolizes resilient European ties—proving that art, agriculture, and tradition can bridge islands and volcanoes for shared prosperity.
Strengthening Bonds Through EU Unity!
Today, Nadur and its Local Council proudly signed a 5-year renewal of our twinning (gemellaggio) agreement with the Comune di Zafferana Etnea and the Pro Loco of Zafferana Etnea. This renewed friendship builds upon the original twinning agreement signed in 2018 and further strengthens the bond between our communities.
Through our #CJAATNE project – A Collaborative Journey of Art, Agriculture, and Tradition – we aim to reinforce our partnership while exploring new initiatives and collaborations in sectors such as agriculture, apiculture, farming, art, artisan crafts, traditions, culture, civic participation, tourism, and more.
Together, we look forward to fostering deeper cooperation, cultural exchange, and shared opportunities for the benefit of both communities.

Nadur Local Council proudly launches A Collaborative Journey of Art, Agriculture, and Tradition (CJAATNE) – our EU-funded town twinning project with Zafferana Etnea, Italy!
This 4-day project under the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme fosters cultural preservation through folk dances and crafts, agricultural sustainability via beekeeping and farming exchanges, and artistic collaborations between Maltese and Sicilian creators.
Bridging communities across Europe for shared heritage and innovation.

Launch of the Official Painting of the Nadur Carnival 2026
After much thought, the Nadur Local Council wanted this year to clearly and strongly express the true concept of the Spontaneous Carnival, and everything that comes with it.
Creativity, spontaneity, macabre, satire and so many more elements that make the Nadur Carnival unique, are all gathered in one place. A carnival that gives space for free, unlimited expression, through the mask, costume and imagination.
This concept was carried out in a most impressive way through the art of Marvic Muscat, who managed to capture the soul of the Nadur Carnival and transform it into a vibrant painting, full of life and message.
The Nadur Local Council thanks Marvic Muscat, as well as everyone who worked to make this painting a reality.
The Nadur Carnival 2026 is here… and it’s off to a strong start!

This November 2025 we welcomed delegates from across the European Union for a gathering of the Charter of European Rural Communities.
The Charter of European Rural Communities is a long‑running network that connects one rural municipality from each EU member state. Its mission is simple and powerful:
- foster friendship and mutual understanding among Europeans at the local level;
- exchange practical know‑how on rural challenges like youth opportunity, agriculture, sustainability, heritage conservation, and digital connectivity;
- encourage mobility and twinning through annual meetings, youth exchanges, and themed workshops.
